November in review

THE "TSO" was wonderful.

If the Christmas spirit has not gotten to your fingers and toes... Then you need to see TSO! Yes that is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They put on a very good spiritual show that put me in the mood for Christmas, The lights came on and it was time to go. It was announced that if you liked the first half, you will love the second half of the show....... WOW, I have to say that I have been to some cool concerts before but this one was the deal. Music, Show, and all the lights. I do not think that my mortal words could tell you about the show. You have to see to believe. If you go to the link I get a kick back. HA HA HA that is a good joke but seeing is believing! Not a good photo. But Norma was OK. Not the best that I have seen but not the worst either. I can tell you that I was not in the mood for the opera that night.
From my little pumpkin patch. Now the squirrels have found them and the seeds have been extracted. So next year I do not know that I will get anything from the garden if the squirrels smell the pumpkins. They did let me get other fruits and vegetables. With the new fence it is like they think I have a death trap their. They may be right.

November and the flowers are still looking good. The rose still has floweres, the purple cone flower just bloomed, and the leaves are falling from the trees.

This was the 20th of the month. Now we have had a hard freese and it is all doing away for the winter. I hope just the winter!

And last but not to limit my personal bonding time with Zach. We got on our greasy close and were under both of the vehicles more then one this month. This photo is really to say "Thank You" to Zachary for all of his help. He may not want to help all of the time but he does and that sure has made my time under the vehicles shorter

Bee

This is still the bee hive. The pot is full 0f 0ld plants. Now if the clay pot last the winter that would be odd.

Look the bees look like they are doing OK. But this is not the case.

Truck

The truck is getting a new part. Yep this is the clutch... Well what is left of the clutch. The tools that were scattered all over the car parts.
This is the new JACK!!!! This is holding the transmission just fine. Now this is good because it only took Zachary and I 30 min to get the transmission back in unlike last time with out the jack.

One Vote?

Election day has come and gone. The media is still focusing on the politics of course; you would think other things were not happening anywhere?

In history class Zach has been learning some really interesting things this year. One of the things that was discussed was the difference that ONE VOTE can make. So often we hear that our votes don't count, it sure does feel that way sometimes. So does One Vote count? Here are some examples:

• 1776- It was determined we would speak English instead of German by ONE VOTE.
• 1895- ONE VOTE determined we would admit Texas into the Union.
• 1923- It was ONE VOTE that gave Hitler control over the Nazi party.
• 1958- Eight members of the House of Representatives were re-elected by less than ONE VOTE per precinct.
• 1960- John F Kennedy beat Richard Nixon by ONE half VOTE per precinct in the Presidential Election.

Just a little food for thought.

Here are some pictures of Zach from his Youth Conference (YC). Zach loves to go to YC and doesn't mind sitting and listening to speakers for hours on end. During his recent YC they had 13 hours of speakers, that is the equivalent of sitting thru 13 Sacrament Meetings! They of course did this over 5 days time.

Whey they are not listening to speakers they do have other activities or sometimes special guests. One such guest was very much enjoyed by Zach this year. It was the group Noteworthy from BYU; you can tell from the picture why Zach liked them so much. They are an all girl A Cappella group. So here is Zach with the group:

Also at YC was another speaker that Zach enjoyed. It was Brother Smith, Zach can't remember his first name. Brother Smith was the EFY President the first year Zach went in 2007 at SVU. According to Zach Brother Smith is an amazing speaker and he remembers peoples names with a key word of phrase. Zach's key phrase is, "Why are you wearing Kelly's shirt?" No that was not a problem! It was just the phrase that was picked, or so I am told.

Get out and VOTE today!

Life has been busy here, so we have not blogged yet this week again. Today is election day and we wanted to remind everyone to get out and vote today. Every vote counts, so vote your conscience today. I hear lines are expected to be long, so get out early.

I did hear that some retailers are offering freebies to anyone that votes, you must have your sticker. The ones I heard about are Krispy Kreme (they will give you a free donut just for asking too), Ben and Jerries Ice Cream (limited hours), and Starbucks (only coffee though).
