Kitchen old photos

Now this is what the kitchen looked like last week Friday......
So the photos are a little dated as to the true condition of the kitchen. You may say take some new photos... I would like to but I forgot my camera in Pittsburgh with my wife.

Now this is a long long long time ago Now this is a long long time ago

This is still a long time ago but the photo is new to may of you. This is the first new cabinet that was installed. The metal bar is for the next cabinets to attache to.
I can not wait to show you what this looks like now... WOW it is like night and day.
But I do have a lot of parts in place "Disposal" now that will be good.
Yep, This is looking good!
Now it is time to go to Pittsburgh for the "secret party".

Bathroom Break

We are going to take a break from the kitchen and go to the bathroom.... Lets make a change while we are in the bathroom.
This is the old light with paint and other stuff on it. This is the old hole.
The shelf is new, but it is not that new...
But the plug is new! Now that is nice we can run the microwave and hair dryer at the same time.
The plug and switch are a nice matching set.
The top switch is for the light and the bottom switch is for the NEW FAN!!!! Thought you might need to know that when you come for a visit.

So the light and fan are installed and working. I think that I did an OK job with the install. The photo is not doing a good job showing the true beauty of the light.

The fan however works great!

Second Coat, Same as the First

Finally!! Paint!! Yeah!! We are painting the laundry room and kitchen the same colors, yes that is plural. Well, Sag Harbor used to be in New York. It has not officially relocated to my kitchen. At least that is the color we have used to paint the walls.

Zach has done a great job painting. He has been helping out every step of the way and he has learned how to do a great many things. The task he hates the most is plumbing!

Irritation, Mud, Sometimes things just happen...

Isn't this a weird picture? This is Michael's very irritated eye. Tuesday night he was sanding, without his protective eye wear may I add, and believe it or not he got something in his eye. Oh, he was sanding the ceiling. So try as he might he could not find anything in the eye, except his finger. He pulled the good old contacts and still found nothing. By Wednesday morning he was even more irritated and his eye was so red it looked bloody. Off to the eye doctors first thing. Well, he did not find anything in there either. He even inverted the eye lid!

So we started the day with an irritated eye. We moved to glasses, until they broke! Wouldn't you know it but they broke after the eye place was closed for the day.

This is our current mud room! Ha ha, we really wanted a mud room but we just can't seem to find any space here for one.

Busy, Busy, Busy

As you can see the Olympics has caught us and we have been recording and watching as much as possible. We had to delete everything else off the DVR today because we were running out of room to keep recording. Zach has especially been enjoying the Olympics. We recorded the opening ceremony, as we were really busy Friday night and could not watch it then. When we finally took a break Saturday night, oh around 10:30 PM we turned on the TV and the Olympics were on then. Michael Phelps was getting his biography played, then of course he won the gold. That was it, Zach was hooked! Well in a manner of speaking.

We are continuing to work on the kitchen. These are only a couple of pictures we have.

As of today we have finished the floor, the plumbing work, new electric outlets and wiring. Oh and most of the room is now insulated.
While we had the wall open we took advantage and added a new electric outlet to our bathroom and installed a new light. Here is the important part, it has an exhaust fan! Yes, we needed that for when steamy is in the shower.
Since we never like to see life get dull. We of course have dug into a new project. Well, actually Zach dug in- quite literally. He found an Eagle Project and got it approved last week Thursday. So after getting it approved he got on his cell phone and first texted everyone that was around here, to see if they could help him on Saturday. Then he started calling people to see who could come and help him get started on Saturday. He called his YM leaders, he had some of the YM call each other to come out and help, and of course he called on a few friends to help as well. The outcome was that Saturday morning he had 17+ people come out to help him with his project. It was a great start and he hopes to have it finished within 2 weeks of starting.
Oh, the project? He is creating a historical display for the trolley ties of the trolley that ran through Catonsville. It was Trolley 8. The Catonsville Historical Society had possession of the ties, they needed cleaned up, moved, and of course set in a display. He is also doing some other maintenance around the Historical Society.

That is all for today. We always have something going on and today is no different......

Kitchen Floor

This is the truck that took out the power for a couple of long HOT hours. The power outage stopped the construction.Looking at the kitchen on Monday, The wall is the same but the plumbing has started to move.
Wednesday, the sub floor was down and the tile is ready to go!!!!
The little spaces are need to keep the lines straight. The floor is ready for the grout to be installed.
WOW, the spaces did the job and the floor is looking good.
